Maxwell Leadership Global Youth Initiative

The Global Youth Initiative (GYI) is a worldwide movement to develop young leaders who influence their world for good. Through free, community-hosted events—typically held in April and October—certified facilitators equip students ages 8–18 with leadership skills, healthy self-image, and practical strategies for positive influence, including anti-bullying and character-building themes grounded in John Maxwell’s values-based curriculum.

Young people leave with ideas they can use the same week: at school, at home, and with friends. Lifescaping is proud to bring this initiative to local families, churches, and schools—and to help you get involved.

Youth Group Programs — Servant Leadership That Lasts

What it is: Interactive, scripture-based sessions for small groups—school, church, family, or community.

Why it matters: Students who learn servant leadership from Christ’s example grow in humility, empathy, and responsibility. They see leadership as service, not status—and they build trust, stronger relationships, and real impact where they live.

The outcome: A group experience that is engaging, practical, and tailored to your context. Programs are typically 30–60 minutes and can be adapted to your group’s interests and schedule.

Program Topics

Inviting options for your group—each session is designed to spark growth, not read like a lesson plan.

Self-Awareness

Discover how God wired you to lead.

Students take a first step toward leadership by understanding themselves—drawing on the truth that we are one body with many gifts (1 Corinthians 12). Through a brief DISC-style exploration, they learn their natural tendencies and how their uniqueness strengthens the team.

Benefit: Confidence, self-knowledge, and a foundation for leading others well.

Communication & Discipleship

Learn to connect, communicate, and influence for good.

In a fun, team-based experience, students practice reaching others with clarity and care—aligned with the call to make disciples (Matthew 28:19–20).

Benefit: Stronger communication, courage in relationships, and practical discipleship skills.

Defining Success & Priorities

Clarify what “true success” means for your life.

Students reflect on purpose, values, and priorities—grounded in Scripture’s vision of a full life (John 10:10) rather than empty pursuits (Matthew 6:19).

Benefit: Wiser choices today and a clearer sense of direction for tomorrow.

Teamwork

See how every person strengthens the whole.

Through stories like Nehemiah and the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12–29), students discover the multiplying power of unity, planning, and honoring each person’s contribution.

Benefit: Collaboration skills, respect for differences, and shared vision.

Youth DISC Assessments — Know Yourself. Communicate Better. Choose Wisely.

The Maxwell DISC program offers a youth-focused assessment for students and young adults who want a clearer picture of how they communicate, what they value, how they learn and think, and where their strengths could make the greatest difference.

The personalized report is easy to understand—not a jargon-heavy label—and opens the door to better conversations at home, school, and church. Each assessment includes a complimentary coaching conversation to help the student connect their style with their goals and get on the right road for their future.

  • Understand personal strengths and blind spots
  • Improve communication with family, teachers, and peers
  • Make more confident decisions about activities, relationships, and direction
  • Begin exploring career and calling paths that fit how they are wired
